Prof. David X. Deng

Dr. Deng is a clinician-turned-scientist and entrepreneur with over 20 years of U.S.-based innovation at leading biotech firms, including Agilent Technologies, Verinata/Illumina, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. His expertise spans DNA microarrays, microfluidics, semiconductor-based NGS, and liquid biopsy diagnostics, resulting in 14+ PCT patents and 40+ peer-reviewed publications. He led the development and launch of the market’s first-of-its-kind microfluidic chip system—a disruptive platform enabling a true “One-Drop Blood” test for early cardiovascular disease detection. This innovation overcomes historical limitations of tedious procedures and poor reproducibility, enabling broader clinical adoption. Dr. Deng earned his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from McGill University and completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at UCSF. He is the founder of Ardent BioMed LLC (ABIOM), with operations in the San Francisco Bay Area and Guangzhou.
