Kamran Kazim oglu Musayev

Kamran Kazim oglu Musayev was born on October 30, 1973, in Amasya district, Republic of Armenia. He educated school №5 chemistry-biology bias in 1990. In 1990–1992, he was a student at the Azerbaijan Medical University; then he studied at the Istanbul University in 1992–1996.

Kamran Musayev studied at the Istanbul University, Cerrahpasha Medical School, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery in 1996–2002, and also at the Kadir Has University, Florence Nightingale Hospital, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery (Turkey, Istanbul).

In 2007, he passed the training course for cardiac transplantation and mechanical assist devices at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital (UK, London).

In 2011, he passed the training course for cardiac surgery at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota, USA).

In 2002–2006, he worked at the Central Clinical Hospital as the head of the department of cardiovascular surgery.

In 2006–2009, he worked at the Central Clinical Hospital as deputy executive director.

Since 2009, he has worked at the Central Clinical Hospital as a head doctor.

In 2007–2017, he was an assistant professor at the I Department of Surgical Diseases at Azerbaijan Medical University.

Since 2017, he has worked as a professor at the Department of Surgical Diseases at Azerbaijan Medical University.

Since 1996, Kamran Musayev has been an active member of the Turkish Society for Cardiovascular Surgery.

Since 1998, Kamran Musayev has been an active member of the Turkish Society for Cardiac Anesthesiology and Critical Care.

Since 2004, he has been the founder and president of the Azerbaijan Society for Cardiovascular Surgery.

Since 2005, Kamran Musayev has been an active member of the Asian Society for Cardiovascular Surgery. 

Since 2007, Kamran Musayev has been an active member of the European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery. 

Since 2009, Kamran Musayev has been an active member of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery. 

Since 2009, Kamran Musayev has been an active member of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Since 2010, Kamran Musayev has been an international member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

Kamran Musayev is the founder of the International Congress “Baku Heart Days,” dedicated to the anniversaries of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Six of these congresses have been successfully conducted. He participated in more than 50 international and local congresses.

On July 5, 2005, according to the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England, his name was indicated in the 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century.

By order of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, dated June 16, 2011, he was awarded the honorary title “Honored Doctor” for his services in the development of healthcare in Azerbaijan.

He is the author of more than 115 published scientific investigations, among them "Protection of donor hearts" (2006) and "Cardiovascular surgery" (2019). 

Since 2021, Kamran Musayev has been Chairman of the Experts’ Union on Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
