He specializes in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques, with research focused on pathogenic genes, disease mechanisms, and drug interventions in kidney disease. He has led or participated in over 20 research projects and published more than 40 papers, including 23 SCI-indexed articles. He has edited four textbooks, filed six patents, secured over RMB 2 million in industry-funded projects, helped enterprises generate over RMB 40 million in revenue, and received a Third Prize of the Hubei Science and Technology Progress Award.

Professional Contributions and Influences in the Medical Field:

1. Discipline Construction and Educational Reform

As a Dean, he has advanced four undergraduate majors and the master's program in Biology and Medicine, strengthened faculty development, and increased the proportion of doctoral faculty to 50%. He expanded collaboration with four affiliated hospitals and seven teaching hospitals, promoted Huangshi Central Hospital's transition into a directly affiliated hospital, and supported Nursing accreditation and the development of Pharmacy.

2. Regional Medical Services and Social Commitment

He led the establishment of a provincial key laboratory and a provincial engineering research center supporting kidney disease diagnosis and treatment in southeastern Hubei. He also promoted the preparatory Hubei Provincial Key Laboratory of Smart Medical Care and Elderly Health Engineering and, as a member of the CPPCC Standing Committee, contributed proposals on primary healthcare, medical education, and health-industry development.

3. Academic and Industrial Influence

He serves on the councils of the Hubei Genetics Society and Hubei Pharmacological Society. He has promoted academic collaboration with leading universities and mentored graduate students and young faculty, strengthening regional research and teaching capacity.

4. International Cooperation

He has promoted international education in Clinical Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy, supporting the training of students from Belt and Road countries. He has also developed international research partnerships and transnational teams for joint projects and academic exchange.
